Last Day

I have come to end of this class, semester and two years of hard work. As my blog says it was a pleasant journey, with many bumps along the way. I suppose if it was all plain sailing it would not have been so interesting. Thank you Sandy for your patience. I know many things regarding the computer which Inever knew before. Laziness was my biggest problem as I relied on my daughter to do my computer work. She was very impressed these last few days when she saw what I could do.She says she has no intention of ever helping me again. I suppose with all my bragging I have burnt my bridges there.

Today we completed all the loose ends on our wiki. Last pictures were added and links were tested out to see if it worked. I thank my two co helpers especially Shahida for her asssistance and help. I sincerely appreciate it

Frustration

I am very frustrated at this stage. I have been trying to access my wiki the whole weekend,but is unable to do so. I have tried everything, but to no avail. I feel I am letting my team down. I have put everything on my stick. I hope They will understand. At least when I could not get in, I started with my 20 books which we have to catalogue .

Adding to my wiki

I am very excited now I have just managed to load a powerpoint presentation to our wiki. After Sandy explained and with Nazeem's help it is now on the wiki. The other interesting learning experience was to add videos to my wiki. I am sure by next week I will have one or two on the wiki. Everything is very exciting. I cant wait to share this with my family and friends.

Wikis

Today we were taught how to internally link other pages to our wikis. I wrote down the steps hoping that I will remember how to do it when I am faced with it. I have also discovered very good websites to help me with the wiki. You will have to wait and see what it will be all about.

Creating a wiki

Sandy has just taught us to create a wiki for our next assignment. It was quite challenging as we had to create it, invite our members and then wait for their reply. Shahida is trying to remember her password as she had created a wiki already. We also had to change our background and our logo. Strange as it seems I could help someone else with this regard. I made many notes how to do it and I hope I will be able to decifer what I wrote when I get home. I feel quite empowered.

Results time

We have just received our results of our test as well as that of our essay. I am quite chuffed with my results. Sandt calls me a super-sleuth, whatever that may mean.Now we have to create a school wiki and I was made a leader of one group. I am now back on my nerves again as I now feel responsible for other people's marks. I will have to shake off this feeling so that I can concentrate on strategies to approach this project.

Test

Just completed a test on web evaluation.I hope I did okay. Over the weekend I helped a friend to set up a blog for her students. She was quite impressed with me as she is more IT inclined than me. I am looking forward to see how she is going to manage the blog.

Joining something new

I have just successfully joined a listserve with the help of Sandy. I tend to become too impatient with the internet. Its far too slow for me. Now I have to start lurking in order to complete the task given to us today.

Reflection

On Thursday I felt very empowered as I was part of the group that had to prepare my topic for my essay to present it to the class. I could concur with many things that the other students said. I have also made notes on a few things which I did not have to add to my essay. It is definitely good to know what will be discussed in the lessons beforehand. It is a pity that I am unable to attend tomorrow's lesson. I hope by going in to the lesson which Sandy will post I will know what went on

Interesting lesson

Today's lesson I understood fairly well. I could keep up as Sandy went along. There were many interesting websites we were shown. Sandy really loves the internet. Her enthusiasm is infectious. I still need to get a picture of me on the blog. I am still struggling to do it. I have a few tips to do my essay as well.

confusion

The mind boggles.I have learnt so many new things this session that I am trying to make sense of it all. I hope when I try to do all these things at home I will be able to make sense of all the little notes I have made.

experiences

Shahida just helped me to get in again as I could not do it at home. I am getting my own personal notebook tomorrow and am confident that it will only get better as time goes on. Looking forward to what Sandy will be sharing with us today.

what an experience

I have just experience setting up a blog account. What an experience it was. I sure hope it will go much better and faster as time goes by.
